Juan Soto to the New York Mets.
The off season's biggest story has reached its conclusion as the Mets have reached an agreement on a 15-year, $765MM deal with free agent superstar Juan Soto
It was Steve Cohen versus Rogers and the Mets outbid the Blue Jays.
Ken Rosenthal reports that the deal includes a $75MM signing bonus, Joel Sherman reports that Soto's deal contains an opt-out after the 2029 season.
It's the largest contract in the history of professional sports, blowing away not only the $461MM net present value of Shohie Ohtani's deal the Dodgers posted last winter but even the $700MM sticker price Ohtani signed for before accounting for that deal's record-breaking deferrals.
